Start-Up Business Plan Winners
Aspiring entrepreneurs Sherrina Smith and John Haliburton recently completed the Mentoring Center's Entrepreneur Class and developed an award winning business plan. Their diligence paid-off! Smith and Haliburton presented their business plan and won start-up funding from the West Palm Beach Housing Authority's Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) program. Academic Achievement
"Its hard for me to get him to read at home but he really enjoys working at the Mentoring Center. He really likes the computers." Mrs. Riggon registered her son Averion with the Mentoring Center last November. Averion attended our Saturday morning tutorials for 4 months and it really paid off. "It brought tears to my eyes when Mrs. Riggon called to tell us Averion's passing FCAT scores" , Lisa Wilson, Chief Operating Officer.
Career
Olaronke "Ronke" Olatunji is a very successful Resorts Guest Services Manager at Disney's Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. She is also a life-time Mentoring Center mentee. "Ronke started with as a high-school student. "She's an amazing, very ambitious young woman. She calls occassionally for leadership and management tips. We are looking forward to the day she mentors for us!" Don Wilson, Executive Director.
