The Mentoring Center is an academic, career and new business coaching center.  Our mission is to provide educational services, to youth and adults, that lead to profitable employment or entrepreneurship.  Access to our network of mentors coupled with training in our digital learning centers, advances opportunities for economic self-sufficiency and personal success.

Academic Tutorials
The Mentoring Center works to improve student academic achievement in our digital learning centers.  Our animated , interactive, intervention reading, math and science lessons help to prepare students for standardized tests. Students that typically do not respond to textbooks and lectures succeed in our visual learning environment.  Tutors work from an Internet-based, sequenced, standards-based curricula to meet the needs of students in remote, rural or urban communities.  Click here to learn more about our No Child Left Behind, Supplemental Educational Services for youth K through 12.

High Achievers Tutorials
Targeting high-achieving , underserved, 1st - 8th grade students, this series of tutorials works to ensure students remain top performers throughout their middle and high school careers.  Call the Mentoring Center to learn more. 

College Prep
Providing college application, essay and interview assistance, this workshop helps students create the best possible application package for the colleges or universities and helps students apply for financial aid.  Ask about our computer-based SAT and ACT prep classes.

Ready to Work
Program 1 - Earn a Bronze, Silver or Gold level award, signed by the Governor, certifying that you are equipped with the skills you need to enter the workforce.  Employers can be confident that job applicants with a Ready to Work credential have the skills need to meet or exceed performance expectations. Program 2 -  Learn  Microsoft WORD, PowerPoint and Excel training for higher levels of productivity.  Career counseling, resume writing, online job searching and interviewing skills workshops are also provided.  Call today to register.

Career Coaching
Career counselors and web based programs will help you pinpoint the job type and title that matches your career goals.  Workshop instructors will help you create an action plan to meet or exceed your expectations! 

New Business Development
Want to start a business of your own?  Non-profit or for profit, attend our new business development workshops and create all the business plan, forecast budgets and sales presentation materials you will need to persue venture capital and make your vision a reality.  At the end of our class, you will be ready to present your plans to potential investors, funders, or grantors.  And, we will provide ongoing business development support in marketing, finance and more.    Read about our most recent emerging entrepreneurs on our Success Stories page.

Model Mentor
Volunteer to mentor children ages 4-15 who have an incarcerated parent.  "In this one-to-one mentoring program, each youth is matched with a trained adult mentor with the goal of building trust and communication that will help the child perform better in school, have stronger family relationships, and be more equipped to avoid negative activities or peer relationships."
